The project Meeting Darwin’s last challenge: toward a global tree of human languages and genes (ERC Advanced Grant n. 295733 LANGELIN - LANguages-GEnes LINeages, PI Giuseppe Longobardi, University of York) is organising a


workshop on Advances in Phylogenetic Linguistics


to be held in Ragusa (Sicily) on July 15th-17th 2013.

















Along with presentations by the LANGELIN team, a restricted number of invited speakers will give plenary addresses:

Conference fee


to be paid cash on site:

- 50 euros (undergraduate and PhD students);

- 80 euros (researchers, professors, others).



Call for posters


A poster session open to submissions in the domain of the workshop theme is envisaged: everyone interested in submitting a poster proposal is invited to send an abstract one-page long to both the following email addresses:
